Additional evidence and professional support

Specialist Services

Additional inspections, technical evidence and independent support tailored to your property, case or project.

When a standard inspection is not enough

Why use a specialist service?

Some property concerns need additional testing, access, monitoring or professional input before a reliable conclusion can be reached.

Specialist services can be added to an existing survey or commissioned separately. They can help investigate concealed or complex defects, strengthen the evidence available for repair decisions and support discussions between owners, landlords, contractors, housing providers, insurers and legal representatives.

The right service depends on the question being answered. We agree the scope first and will not undertake additional chargeable work without prior agreement.

Common questions

Specialist services FAQs

Can a specialist service be added after a standard survey?

Yes. If the initial inspection identifies a need for monitoring, concealed-area inspection, document review or another specialist input, the additional scope and fee can be agreed separately.

Does “survey standard” mean every test is completed at every property?

No. It means the method can form part of the normal survey where it is relevant and proportionate. The surveyor selects appropriate evidence for the agreed instruction and property conditions.

Will a borescope or floor-void inspection find every concealed defect?

No. These inspections are limited by the size, position and safety of the available access. They provide evidence from the areas visible to the equipment or surveyor, not a guarantee of all concealed construction.

Can you review a contractor’s quotation or repair specification?

Yes. We can consider whether the proposed work appears connected to the identified defect and underlying cause. This does not replace the contractor’s responsibility for dimensions, quantities, design, statutory compliance and workmanship.

Is technical dispute support the same as legal representation?

No. DampRo UK provides independent property and surveying advice. We do not provide legal representation or legal advice. Formal expert-witness work requires a separate instruction.

What does a post-works inspection confirm?

It records accessible and visible conditions after work and can compare them with the original findings or agreed actions. It does not automatically certify concealed workmanship, provide a warranty or guarantee future performance.

Important information

Specialist findings are limited to the agreed instruction, evidence supplied and areas safely accessible at the relevant time. They do not automatically constitute structural engineering advice, laboratory analysis, legal advice, legal representation, a warranty or an expert-witness opinion. Where another discipline or further investigation is required, this may be recommended. Services may be delivered directly or through appropriately qualified specialist partners.
